This constitutes a contract between W. M. Trussell, D.V.M. (herein after referred to as Seller), and___________________, herein after referred to as Purchaser. Seller agrees to sell to Purchaser one kitten, herein after referred to as Pet, for the sum of $_____. Pet is a ____________________, litter number _____________, microchip number ________________________. Pre-Paid Registration Slip is provided; actual registration of Pet is the sole responsibility of Purchaser. Dr. Trussell will perform biannual or annual physical examination and provide any needed vaccinations for Pet at no charge to Purchaser if Purchaser will schedule an appointment and present Pet for said services.
Pet is guaranteed free of FeLV and FIV for 10 calender days from date of purchase. Pet has been vaccinated for FVRCP, FeLV and Rabies (dates of vaccination provided). Pet is not vaccinated for FIP and Seller recommends against these vaccinations in keeping with the recommendations of the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
Purchaser is contractually bound to keep Pet AS AN INDOOR ANIMAL ONLY FOR AS LONG AS PET SHALL LIVE. In addition, Purchaser agrees to maintain regular and appropriate veterinary care, provide a quality diet, adequate means of play and exercise and plenty of love and attention for Pet. Pet is already trained in use of a scratching/climbing tree, and Purchaser is discouraged from having Pet declawed; instead, Purchaser is encouraged to provide a good scratching post and/or pad and/or climbing tree as an alternative to surgery.
Purchaser is taking Pet to keep as the personal companion of herself/himself. PET SHALL NEVER BE GIVEN, SOLD, TRADED, OR SURRENDERED TO ANY OTHER PERSON(S) OR AGENCY FOR ANY REASON. If ever Purchaser is unable to keep Pet due to lifestyle change such as serious illness, divorce, etc., Purchaser agrees to return Pet to Seller, and Seller shall return to Purchaser 30% of the purchase price of Pet.
Seller endeavors to raise healthy cats free of hereditary disorders. To this end, Purchaser agrees to notify Seller of any future development of any disorder that may be hereditary in origin.
